Tammy and I were out and about running errands and were looking for a place to eat downtown. We ended up in Bricktown and after a couple of circles up and down the streets we finally decided on Spaghetti Warehouse. We were greeted by the hostess and seated in the main dining area towards the back. We spent some time looking at the menu before finally deciding on a couple of appetizers and entrees.

Tammy wanted their spinach and artichoke dip to start out with and their fried zucchini looked good to me. However when I ordered her appetizer the waitress informed us that they were out of it, so we went without appetizers today. Much to the disappointment of Tammy. She was looking forward to her dip. I know she has been craving it for some time now.

For lunch Tammy ordered their grilled chicken linguini which had broccoli, mushrooms, and spinach in a garlic butter sauce with a grilled chicken on top. She really liked the flavor of it, the butter flavor was throughout the dish and the chicken was cooked throughout, although the chicken breast looked like it was processed and not a real breast. Also we noticed that there were parts of the linguini that looked like it was dried out. Like it was on top of the container and air got to it and caused the linguini to yellow and dehydrate. Something I know all too well working in Italian restaurants for far too long. This really disappointed me as well, it is a mistake that is so easy to avoid and shows laziness in the cook.

I ordered their eggplant parmesan no cheese. The eggplant was really good, and the sauce and spaghetti was good, I could have used more sauce on the eggplant and pasta though. My eggplant and pasta was a bit dry. At least my spaghetti did not include any dried bits and the pasta was well drained. I had very little water on the bottom of my plate.

The inside of the restaurant was really cool. They had a mocked up trolley inside and spent some money on the decorations. We didn’t get to spend much time looking around or getting pictures. About half way through our meal Tammy got called into work so we had to leave pretty quickly.

All and all we thought the food was good, it just wasn’t spectacular or memorable. That being said the only major complaints was being out of the dip and the issue with the linguini. Our dishes had flavor throughout and our service was decent. I would hope the pasta issue is a fluke brought out by a lazy cook and being out of the dip was the cause of the Sysco truck not making it in yet from a busy night the night before. I can see this being a good date place with the coolness of the inside. It does have that chain feel, but it isn’t overly overdone. Our service was ok, it did take a while for our server to get us a few things, but when we needed to go our bill came pretty quick.

This place isn’t a great first date type of place, maybe further along in the relationship, and with the trolley in the middle, it is a cool place for kids as well. Just don’t go in expecting greatness and you will be fine. And hopefully they will have their spinach dip when you do go.
